Summer Denim Series (Part 2: Oh Heyy, Chambray)

From Phillip Lim to Thakoon and then to the runways of Derek Lam, chambray is all over the place like a drunk chick in 6"stilettos. I am absolutely in love with the head to toe denim look, ridiculed by many and more commonly referred to as "The Canadian Tuxedo" --or, THIS ... Chambray does the trick and helps avoids some faux pas-- it's a piece of fabric usually cross woven with either blue, gray, or white thread. It looks like denim, but so much more lightweight and easier to wear in the summer. Also much like denim, the trend started with middle-class Americans and by way of all things fashion, trickled up to designer runways and then down to us --the mass consumers. Guys, you too, look great in chambray (insert saucy mental picture of Paul Newman and James Dean here). There's only one simple but important tip when pulling off this denim on denim look --make sure you use two different shades of blue in your outfit. You can ALWAYS find some really nice chambray shirts at Madewell, The Gap, J Crew, or Levi's.

Have a great rest of the week, everyone. Make shit happen!
