Do A.C.

Want a mini getaway from the city? Where else but Atlantic City! Sarcasm intended. It's not the usual idyllic setting most people might seek in a getaway; instead, we went to check out the DJ lineup this weekend --and to bask in the greatness of 24hr room service and buffets! The boardwalk was beautiful. It was still quite chilly and gloomy at the beach, but we wanted to check out the carnivals and food stalls (most of which ended up being closed).  Nonetheless, there was something very soothing in just walking along the beach, listening to the waves crashing, the birds soaring, and kids laughing --definitely a nice change in scenery!

As for the outfit, it's a challenge finding the right things to wear with these heels because they are so damn rock and roll. So, I kept it simple. Yes, I often plan my outfits around the shoes I'm wearing. They're runway Chloe and it was love at first sight when I got them in Hong Kong a few years back! My dad calls them "duct tape shoes."

Nicky Romero and Steve Aoki spun this weekend. I gotta say, it also does make up for missing out on Ultra this year (I'm too old for raves). Both sets were amazing and we ended having the time of our lives. Oh yeah, we also snapped a picture with our new friend, Steve Aoki.

Have a great Easter Weekend everyone!

March Madness Mayhem

I'm a huge basketball fan, and I gotta say there have been some major bracket busters this March Madness! Definitely not cool. We were on our way to watch some NCAA games at a local bar and it was crazy how many fans were screaming their lungs away and taking shot for shot. Boy, do I love the energy in New York City. I remember back in Cambodia when I had to stay up until the early morning just to catch a good game live on TV! I was point guard on my high school's basketball team and basketball was life. I remember going to basketball camp --as physically tormenting and mentally dreadful it was, we still had the best time of our lives. Lifelong friendships were made and we learned that with hard work and dedication, anything can happen. Our team even went to winning the championships for our international school league. For the most part, we really have our amazing coach to thank for that. Miss you, Austin! So, I've got Louisville taking the chip-- let's gooo!

I got this silk blouse from McQ by Alexander McQueen ages ago. Suddenly, it reappeared in my closet and I can't believe it's never been worn. I'm also big fan of anything with bold shoulders, and especially this one because it's draped in such a Medieval way.

Hope you all had an amazing weekend and are doing way better than I am in my pool!

Sunday Funday

Hope you all had a great weekend! It was such a lovely sunday in New York City, so Mike and I decided to roam around the lower east side and the west village area after having a double date brunch with our two very good friends at the Stanton Social. We got macarons at Bisous Ciao, walked from LES to St.Marks, and then grabbed dinner/sangria at a random mexican restaurant in the west village! We ended the day watching Django in theaters (finally!) and we got blown away! Quentin Tarantino is the man!

I love this sweater I just got and wholeheartedly agree with everything it has to say! It ain't Laurent without Yves! I paired the sweater with silk track pants to give it that fashionable sporty look. And yes, I did dye my hair red --I was going for a more fire-y red but it turned out slightly purple. Can't complain, I guess I can go with this look for spring.

Also, I wanted to give you all a big warm THANK YOU for following and liking my pictures (Facebook and Instagram), I appreciate all your support and love you all heaps! All your shout outs are what keep me going. So please keep doing what you're doing. :)

Right as Rain

Sorry for the long hiatus! Neither my schedule nor the weather have been on my side recently. I have missed you all dearly!
OK, I have the most nappy hair for an asian girl, and it gets a million times worse in humidity. "Snap Liz, your hair looks like coconut husk!" Yeah good one. I've tried just about everything. Feel free to give me suggestions below! While Karen Smith from Mean Girls can tell when it's raining with her boobs, I can tell with my hair. I'm in love with this leather baseball cap trend (seen on the Herve Leger Fall runway) and how it can add that extra hip hop/Jigga Man flavor--while taming my wild mane. Really going to put this bad boy to good use!

March Madness is around the corner and I still have no idea what to fill in my bracket! I won one last year (really don't know how that happened), and about to do it again this year! Who are you all rooting for?

Leather baseball cap: Asos // Leather Vest: Yigal Azrouel // Blazer: Zara // T-Shirt: James Perse // Pants: Diesel // Clutch: Alexander Wang // Boots: Steve Madden // Necklace: TopShop // Cuff: NastyGal

Big thanks to Winnie for triumphing through the rain and helping me take pictures! Please check out her fashion design blog Winnie&Marcus (her Corgi is the cutest!)

Have a very Irish St. Patty's Day weekend, everyone!
