Thighs No Lies

Remember when Jimmy Choo collaborated with H&M back in the Fall of 2009? Yeah I remember clearly cuz I camped outside the Fifth Avenue flagship H&M for 9 hours just to get a first glimpse at the collection -- it wasn't exactly lovely weather either. Quality standard was superb compared to what you typically get at H&M. Sadly though, these thigh highs only came in a 36 (I got these for my best friend back in Cambodia instead). To show you how kickass and edgy they can make any outfit look, I borrowed them and squeezed my 37.5 sized feet into these babies.

Stay tuned for pictures of the small project I did with What's Up Magazine Phnom Penh

I'm heading back to New York City! I couldn't have asked for a better summer. Really sad to be leaving family and friends, but excited to launch my collection soon in the city!

A little high tea "see you again soon" brunch with my best friends who I miss dearly!! One of the very rare times we dress girly...

Cream of the Crop

Give into it. It's everywhere. It's my current obsession - crop tops. Thanks, Miley.

As my blog has grown in audience, I've been approached ad nauseam with questions about WHAT my blog is and WHY I do this - mostly from those who are less acquainted with the idea of self expressionism. I can start by telling you what my blog is NOT -- it's not a platform for me to show off what's in my closet. It's not an attempt at modeling (I'm 5'8" with 4in" heels on, you do the math). It's not something I just get dolled up for. It goes beyond that. Urban Betsy is about sharing a love and dynamic for a creative and artistic passion -- fashion and writing. Sharing with people worldwide who have that same passion and appreciation for it.I blog because I can and because it's awesome. It's all outta love, baby.

On a more business level, mine and Winnie's line is coming together steady and surely! We're calling our brand Odette & Co. Please stay tuned for updates! SO excited!

In Your Face

So I usually don't do these "Beauty" posts ... mostly because I'm not much a beauty product person myself. I grew up a sporty tomboy and the only thing I put on my face was Nivea body lotion and chapstick. Which probably explains why I am starting to see premature wrinkles on my face. I consulted my mom (who is the ultimate beauty guru, and I only strive to age well like her)- she introduced me to these golden babies--SKII Signs Eye Mask. I have tried it for three weeks since I've been back home and HOLY SHIT, they work. Not that I am completely rid of my under eye lines, but my eyes look less tired and my baby crow feet are more like footprints now. I exaggerate you not. Of course, it goes without saying that this must be accompanied by a balanced and healthy lifestyle regimen. I guess the all-nighters in college has it's physical effects (not all the late night partying, of course). It's a bit of a stretch in the wallet (usually $110 for a box with 14pairs), but I highly recommend it. Two times a week. You're welcome.

Greased Lightning

Ah, the days of Danny Zuko and Sandy Olsson. Definitely way before my time, but the movie got me into that badass kustom kulture look--the IDGAF/middle finger in your face attitude. I would like to think of myself as a nicer, more angelic version of that. Check out my Bruno Mars-inspired hair, though. He's not the baddest ass in town but whatever's all wrapped up in that 5ft figure I'm really digging it. I'm no sex kitten, but my vision for the shoot came out perfect --only with the help of amazing talents. I KNOW I've been slacking in posts, this time I'm not too sorry 'cuz I have some pretty cool stuff coming up for ya!

I worked with some talented Cambodian artists for this shoot --gotta support my peoples!

I got this jacket in Hong Kong and it is in no way appropriate for the current weather condition that I am in --which by the way is typhoon season up in Phnom Penh -- I can't wait to wear it for Fall back in New York City.

Jacket: Von Dutch // Jeans: Tough Jeansmith // Heels: Jimmy Choo for H&M

Check out my Featured Blogger Video up on Fashion Buzz I did back in May!! (don't mind my super tanned-ness lol!!)
